Human Resources Administrator
PEO Canada is assisting in the search for a Human Resources Administrator on behalf of our client. This organization is a well-established professional services firm with over 25 years of experience delivering economic and statistical analysis, advisory services, and expert support to law firms, corporations, and government agencies.
The successful candidate will act as the first point of contact for HR-related matters in Canada, working closely with a U.S.-based HR team. This position will begin as fully remote and transition to a hybrid work model once a physical office is established in the Toronto area.

Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary HR administrative contact for Canadian employees
- Ensure completion of pre-employment checks in compliance with employment legislation
- Support employees with leave management systems
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance of HR records and processes
- Liaise with payroll teams to ensure accurate and timely updates
- Provide guidance on pay-related matters in collaboration with payroll
- Work with finance to confirm budget approvals for recruitment activities
- Support recruitment processes (job postings, interview coordination, references, offers)
- Prepare employment contracts and documentation for changes in terms and conditions
- Assist in implementing HR policies across multiple provinces
- Coordinate meetings, travel, and administrative activities
- Manage expense reporting, invoicing, and office supply processes
- Provide administrative support to senior leadership
- Perform additional duties as required
Required Skills
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or related field (HR focus preferred)
- 2–3 years of experience in HR or a similar role
- Strong knowledge of Ontario employment legislation (multi-province knowledge is an asset)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Experience with HRIS, ATS, or employee databases is an asset
- CPHR designation is an asset (not required)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
