Description

This is an exciting project-oriented workers’ compensation and benefits position in an evolving employee management company. This role is integral to the operation of our benefit and workers’ compensation reporting functions and the support we provide our clients. Strong organization and communication skills will be critical in this role.

Primary Duties:

  • Liaise and communicate effectively with external vendors/partners and various internal groups including payroll and accounting.
  • Administration and application of benefit premium deductions, taxable benefits, and workers’ compensation premiums and fees – some previous payroll or accounting experience is preferred
  • Ensuring employee/employer contributions and remittances are recorded, reported and processed accurately
  • Frequent reconciliation of workers’ compensation, benefit, wellness program, and health care spending accounts
  • Assist in annual year-end audits, reconciliation and reporting
  • Provide project support as needed
  • Filing and organization of documents

Required Skills

  • Direct payroll, accounting and/or group insurance related experience is required
  • Completion of a secondary education in Business Administration (or equivalent) from a recognized college or equivalent experience is preferred
  • Working knowledge of multi provincial and multi-cycle payroll an asset
  • Intermediate or senior level Microsoft Office (primarily Microsoft Excel)
  • Previous experience in HRIS/Payroll software systems
  • Experience with Group Net, or another online benefits program is an asset
  • The ability to meet strict deadlines, work under pressure and have efficient time management skills
  • Proven analytical problem-solving skills to logically investigate account discrepancies
  • Bilingual French/English language skills would be a significant asset
