CMM Programmer/Operator

PEO Canada is partnering with our client, an aerospace components manufacturer, to hire a CMM Programmer/Operator to join their team. As a CMM Programmer/Operator, you will be responsible for development of CMM programs and inspection of high precision machined components to Drawing and Specification using CMM and manual tools/techniques. You will als be responsible for ensuring project quality standards are met while working collaboratively with operations staff.

Description

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Program Complex parts using CMM software.
• Establish CMM program controls, setup sheets, tooling control, file security.
• Inspection of products using CMM in accordance with our quality system procedures.
• Support final inspection with AS9100 reports and or CMM inspections.
• Responsible for the inspection and acceptance of detail parts in-process in machine shop and surface finishing.
• Maintain AS9100/ISO quality control standards by verifying dimensions of machined parts according to drawings using tools such as micrometers, vernier calipers, height gauges, optical comparators, CMM’s and other specific measuring equipment.
• Understand contract & specification requirements for all quality activities.
• Complete First Article Inspection reports using AS9102 format.
• Able to work under minimum supervision in a team environment is essential.
• Must possess strong organizational, time management and decision-making skills to ensure completion of paperwork and computerized tasks.
• Will be required to work independently and with minimal supervision to complete tasks.

Required Skills

 

• Manufacturing environment (e.g., military, aerospace).
• Knowledge of AS9102, aircraft industry requirements, and general inspection practices.
• Secondary school diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of Quality Assurance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• CMM Programming experience in Zeiss CMM machines preferred.
• Experience with Excel Micro-Vu high-resolution camera-based measuring system an asset.
• Must be able to read and interpret drawings and specifications, including CATIA models.
• High competency and understanding of GD&T.
• Fully competent in the use of tools and gauges to inspect machined parts and features.
• Must be comfortable in a fast-paced work environment and possess good interpersonal skills.
• Familiar with office computer programs (MS Word, Excel).
• Knowledge of basic calibration (recall) system and quality audit experience preferred.
